An intrinsically beautiful, hand carved wooden hand printing block. Originally used for printing of Indian cotton. ‘Block Printing’ is one of the oldest textile crafts of India, especially practised in the Sanganer district of Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The techniques were introduced under the Mughals and many of our cotton throws and other textiles are made using this simple technology. As this craft, like so many, gives way to ‘improved modern’ methods, we have found many of these wooden block on the market, sadly, but available to be appreciated and even used.
