Product Description

These hand knotted, simple village rugs are from Northern Afghanistan. The designs can be traced back many hundreds of years and mostly come from the Turkmen tribes, many of who left Russian dominated Turkmenistan in the 1920s. The wools are usually from the Karakul sheep, the source of the famous Astrakhan hats.
