Andrew Haughton – Owner and Manager
Andrew designed and made furniture in his early 20s until 1993. His love of crafts lead naturally to rugs, helping out at The Mihrab Gallery in Edinburgh then on to supplying large antique oriental carpets to a New York Madison Avenue gallery followed by work for RL Rose Ltd in Edinburgh’s New Town and finally in 2008 to The Nomads Tent where he contimnues to develop the space as a gallery, events venue and warehouse of tribal art.
Sarah Brady – Events and Marketing Co-ordinator
Sarah’s good taste and perfectionism are apparent in the marketing strategy she has employed for The Nomads Tent. Her degree in History of Art and love of travel led her down St Leonard’s Lane to The Nomads Tent warehouse – many an item ended up finding a home in hers!
Susie Beveridge – Digital Marketing and Visual Arts Director
Susie is the face behind the social media and marketing for The Nomads Tent, her flair for creating exciting colourful displays comes naturally, using her degree in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone Art College. Susie has a passion for travel inspired by living in Asia, Africa and the Middle East and loves collecting artefacts and textiles.
Nazanin Rastegar – Rug Repairer
Nazanin, our in-house rug repairer has a degree in rugs from Shahrekord University, home of Bakhtiari rugs, Iran. She is a specialist in repairing and restoring rugs and has a master’s degree in graphic design. As well as repairing rugs, Nazanin helps with graphic design for The Nomads Tent.
Ruth Palmer – Web Guru
Ruth’s nomadic credentials include a background in IT and administration, a degree in Zoology and a love of travel, art and the exotic. Ruth now works part time managing our website, posting products and blogs on to our website.
