Our relationship with India is deeply rooted in several centuries of trade, struggle, diplomacy and cultural exchange in which Scots played a prominent role. It is a tumultuous story full of the consequences of empires behaving and misbehaving, of extraordinary people and dramatic events.
Our keynote speaker, well known author and historian John Keay, will be joined by Aline Dobbie, Dr Roger Jeffery and Rufus Reade. We will hear about ancient trade routes, ‘The Great Game’, Kipling’s Kim, and a virtual tour of ‘Curious Edinburgh’.
Entry: £40 per head (students £30), includes lunch and refreshments.
