The History of Pearls and their Royal association
Wednesday 13th November, 6pm
Esther Eyre has been designing and making precious jewellery for over twenty years. She trained at Kingston and Middlesex gaining a BA in jewellery design in 1982.
Join us for a talk and exclusive pearl viewing with renowned jewellery designer Esther Eyre here at The Nomads Tent on Wednesday 13th November at 6pm. Esther will be delving into where pearls are found, how they are formed and the main varieties available.
We will hear how pearls have made their way through the ages via the Silk Road, discovery and trading into the royal (mostly British) collection, both public and private.
Esther will introduce us to famous pearls, and indeed famous pearl wearers, as well as touching on how they are worn today.
We are delighted that Esther will be exhibiting her extraordinary collection of pearl jewellery in The Nomads Tent for one evening only, all of which will be available to purchase on the evening.
Using mainly gold and precious stones, Esther designs and makes special commissions for a large number of private clients including members of the Royal family and international celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Tilda Swinton and Ringo Starr. Although trained primarily as a formal goldsmith, Esther enjoys using the cornucopia of semi-precious stones to create exciting blends of colour
and texture, resulting in pieces that are not just jewellery but a wonderful and unique accessory. Esther will be giving a talk here at The Nomads Tent on November 13th at 6pm with many of her pieces on display and available to buy.
Tickets are free but booking is required for this event. A glass of wine will be offered on the evening.
